My first experience with GVI, based in Mkwiro base

Definitely not what I expected! Particularly, being Kenyan and participating in Expo 114 as part of the three National Scholarship Program members. But actually it’s been quite fun getting to know people from all over the continent and in addition living on an island brings a whole different twist to it.
Arriving to the Mkwiro base.

Everyone is so friendly it’s really amazing. Every day we go out on sea and do cetacean and mega fauna species identification and behaviour surveys are cool. The staff as well, assist in everything and are very knowledgeable so you get to know a lot of information I never knew before. Definitely a thumbs up! Looking forward to the next few weeks, and taking part in each of the different programmes.
