Singing Shimoni!

I have been in Shimoni working with the community project for a week and a half now. This week we planned all the lessons for the week on Monday. On Tuesday, I was a support teacher at a Standard 5 class at Shimoni Primary. In the afternoon, Rhoda and I led a Standard 7 class at Matunda Bora on past participles. The class was very smart and understood everything well. After class, we had choir, and we sang “In the Jungle” and “Wonderwall” with the kids.

Shimoni Choir!
On Wednesday, Rhoda and I led a Standard 5 class at Matunda Bora about comparatives and superlatives, and the class went very well. We had Wildlife Club at both Matunda Bora and Shimoni Primary, and we talked about snakes at both schools. We also had a book club at Shimoni Primary where we read with some of the children in the library. It was a lot of fun and the kids were eager to read.  Wednesday night I taught Adult English.

Teaching in Shimoni Primary is a lot of fun!
Today, I taught a class at Shimoni Primary that was cut short due to a special assembly.  In the afternoon, I was a support teacher at a class in Matunda Bora and then we read with children in the village. We had chai and potatoes with Mr. Opio, the headmaster of Matunda Bora and it was really good. All in all, it has been a pretty busy and good week.
