From one Expedition to the Next

Expedition 112 was a small but exciting one for marine, with a visit to Watamu Marine Association to discuss initiatives that we would work together on in the future, a visit from Ruga, who has previously worked in mangrove conservation in Tanga and took the marine team down to the mangroves to see the different uses of mangroves as well as having a lot of fun in the mangrove mud, and visits to KESCOM community conservation groups to release turtle hatchlings.
We visited Watamu Marine Park, and started working with WMA

This expedition is going to be much bigger! We have a lot of people volunteering on the marine programme and a lot of exciting developments! We have begun photo identification of our Humpback Dolphin population, are continuing to develop our reef fish and mangrove surveys and alongside community are hoping to start Women’s Environmental Education lessons with possible guest speakers. Exciting times! We are also now coming into whale season so fingers crossed we will some good sightings out on Bardan! Watch this space!
Photo identification of Humpback Dolphins will continue alongside Bottlenose
